WHAT IT IS

A three-day, hands-on experience with four teachers who are passionate about you feeling empowered in every way. We’ll dive into how your voice makes photography work for you and we’ll capture real families and couples indoors as well as a beautiful outdoor location near the house we are stying in. You’ll leave feeling confident in what & how you shoot as well as your working knowledge of film and integrating it into your life. In a nutshell, think of this workshop as real moments, analog photography, & dynamic community. Think of it as rad because that’s what’ll be and that’s who you are.

WHAT IT’S NOT

Styled shoots definitely have a time and a place but this isn’t it! We don’t want you to invest to take photos of someone else's vision -- we want you to find YOURS. Comparison and ego's don't exist here so you can send ‘em packing. While we can guarantee you will have the time of your life and meet some amazing friends, we will also be working to put the learning in action.. Lastly, while we will shoot, you won't be clamoring over others for the same shot. Each person will get time alone with real and rad couples and families so you leave with a portfolio that reflects you.

SO GRAB A FRIEND AND JOIN US!

REAL MOMENTS

We believe that capturing real moments and real people is important. Capturing the every day, the ordinary, the imperfect. For this reason, the RAD workshop is centered around learning to capture lifestyle families and couples. We want each attendee to have the opportunity to hone in their voice and capture these moments and people with their own creative eye. We will help you work through what important moments are meaningful to you and how you can find an approach that works for your personality and style. Each attendee is given an opportunity to capture families and couples on their own, without others shooting at the same time or even near by.

ANALOG PHOTOGRAPHY

For many reasons, film photography is our medium of choice and we love nothing more than to empower others to integrate film into their work. We will be going in depth with film and how to seamlessly add it into your work flow. This means everything from gear, film stocks, lighting, rating, metering, film labs, what to expect when you get your scans back, and even editing film to match with your digital work. Our goal is for you to leave the island inspired to take risks on your own, learn from your own work, know exactly how to communicate with your lab, and confidently create the work you’ve always wanted to make.

DYNAMIC COMMUNITY

In an industry that can often feel incredibly isolating and competitive, we’ve found that support from fellow photographers is invaluable. For this very reason, we want to create an environment that is supportive and sans ego. We strongly believe that no matter where you’re at, everyone has something to learn and we are ALL in this together. Who cares if we all shoot with the same camera, use the same film stocks, or even the same presets? YOU are what makes your voice. Once we’re free to be who we truly are, then nothing can hold us back from being a part of a dynamic community where we continue to grow into the best versions of ourselves.
